The five most unpretentious in the content of aquarium fish

What is a simple fish aquarium?

Most beginner aquarists interested in one simple, yet main for them question – what are the most unpretentious and easy to maintain aquarium fish . on which “fill the hand”, or which could without too much trouble to care even children in kindergarten or school.

Without claims to any special achievements in the field of breeding or hybridization fish, with some simplifications, we can identify five of the most unpretentious in the content of the fish. The main criteria for this ruggedness is based on the ratio of the considered fish to the following parameters:

– the volume of the aquarium,

– water (quality and chemical characterization),

– the temperature.

For the successful maintenance of many species of fish these three indicators are critical – they need a volume of two hundred liters, or need to cook soft or hard water, either to maintain its temperature at least 30 degrees, or no more than +24.

Unpretentious same fish will be almost all the same, where to live – if only there was water (note: it is clear that we are not talking about spoiled completely cold or hot water, where the presence of any life is extremely problematic).

So, we offer you our hit parade of the most easy to maintain aquarium inhabitants.

Hit parade undemanding fish, which can be offered to novice aquarists

Fish, breathing atmospheric air

These fish are probably the leaders in unpretentious – they can live even in the liter jar at room temperature, they do not need the compressor to ensure water oxygen (fish breathe atmospheric air).

However, there is one thing – and cocks, and makropody have a fairly evil character. Males strongly conflict with each other, which may lead to the death of the weakest rival. In addition, these fish (especially makropody) love to nibble your neighbors the end of the long fins. But if they are kept separate, the males and makropody not bring much trouble to their owners.

So, all that is needed when the content is a male or makropody, this aquarium litres on five-ten, water (boiled or from the tap stand), ground (can be without it), plants (live or artificial), birdseed (live or artificial) that are given to the fish once a day. Every two weeks the water should either be a substitute (thirty percent of the total), or add fresh to replace evaporated.

Viviparous fish

This is a very unpretentious viviparous fish. But it should make an important clarification: the question here is not about thoroughbred types that are quite capricious in the content.

For keeping flocks of 5-10 adult fish suitable for the aquarium from 10-30 litres with settled tap water with a temperature in the range of 24-27 degrees, with soil and plants, the compressor is very desirable, although not mandatory.

To feed the fish dry food, but better to give small live food or artificial granular. Once a week water should either be a substitute (twenty percent of the total), or add fresh to replace evaporated.

Effortlessly these fish reproduce in an aquarium without the aquarist – if only had a place to hide after the birth of newborn fry (for example, floating plants such as Elodea or hornwort).

In dvadtsatimetrovy the aquarium population of guppies may reach several tens of pieces. When a large number of fish in a small aquarium the presence of the compressor required.

Small catfish

3. Catfish tetras hiding – Panda . mottled, Golden.

As labyrinth fishes, these fish can breathe atmospheric air, which makes the presence of the compressor is not required. Tetras hiding – completely peaceful fish that can live in small aquariums 30-50 gallons. The water, it is desirable to substitute once a week (20-30 percent of the total). Catfish feed small live and artificial granulated feed.

Small schooling fish

4. Zebrafish are smart funny schooling fish, which the vanity will liven up any aquarium. A flock of five to ten zebrafish can be planted in ten-litre volume.

To feed the fish can be small live food, flake very well eat artificial. It is advisable to replace the water once a week (10-20 percent of the total). The presence of a compressor is highly desirable.

Small cichlids

5. Black-striped cichlasoma – fish, which we can recommend to people who want to put in your aquarium more or less large fish. This cichlid can live in an aquarium with a capacity of 50 litres and above (size of adult fish is usually not more than 8-10 cm).

Black-striped cichlasoma rarely get sick, do not require special conditions of detention. But keep in mind that they, like most cichlids are territorial fishes, forming the established of the pair. Accordingly, in the aquarium they need to plant fast schooling fish, which is not a cichlasoma competitors in search of a nest.

The soil in the aquarium with the black-striped cichlasoma must be in the form of medium-sized gravel, plants or tverdolysti or artificial. A water change once a week (10-20 percent of the total) required the presence of the compressor, it is desirable to have a pump filter.

At the end of our story will make a reservation that, despite its simplicity, all participants in our hit parade of the most easy to maintain aquarium fish will feel good and live a whole measured by nature period only in clean and maintained aquariums, providing what is the main task of the aquarist. Otherwise, even the most unpretentious fish for a long time, alas, won’t last.
